I apply a tin once a year after oil change to engine and I applied a tin to gearbox approx. 4 years ago. the result is my 108000 miles 2.5 tdi 1996 fiat ducato has ZERO oil leaks and in six years of ownership has NEVER required a oil seal. may be worth a try for the price of £8.00 what have you got to lose. Its amazing isn't it that I thought I had a problem because the garage said they had observer the leak.. On draining the gearbox I extracted EXACTLY 2 ltrs of box oil the manual Remove the starter motor - and disconnect both outer the bottom suspension joints - that then allows you to extract / disconnect the the drive shafts from both sides - and then swing them out of the way ..
